Hustler Magazine: Barely Legal After Barely Legal (1994-1999)

Hustler magazine may not have "invented" the whole "barely legal" concept of showing youthful style and depictions (or ageplay, for that matter) in pornography, but it certainly played a key role in helping popularize the style as far as mainstream American porn is concerned.  Examples of the "barely legal" style of pornography could be found in European (particularly Danish) as well as American porn before Hustler's first issue debuted in July of 1974.  For example, one of the first film loops of this style that I ever remember seeing starred John Holmes with two "girl scouts" who show up at his door and offer him more than just cookies (link).  On page 454 of the book John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches, it lists this loop as follows:  "Girl Scout Cookies a.k.a. Big John Holmes and the Girl Scouts - Peepshow Series: Playmate #17 - With Gilda Grant and another woman.  Shot in 1973."

In my previous blog post entitled, "Hustler Magazine: Barely Legal Before Barely Legal", I documented and displayed the main images I was able to find which I felt best exemplified this style in Hustler magazine from the years 1974 up to 1993.

In September 1993, the first issue of Hustler's Barely Legal magazine was released:

Though now there was a specific magazine dedicated to the young "barely legal" theme, Hustler magazine would still feature models and photo spreads exhibiting this characteristic style and approach.

The following is a chronological visual exposé depicting the evolutionary development of youthful "barely legal" images appearing in Hustler magazine from 1994 to 1999:

Part 3 of this exposé will follow shortly here on the Lustler blog, and will be entitled, "Hustler Magazine: Barely Legal After Barely Legal (2000-2009)".
